Infant Joshua Makih Smith-Rice, 1 month, of Chattanooga, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2024, at his residence. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Terry Courtney; and great-grandfather, Carl Edwards. Survivors include his father, Johnathan Courtney; mother, Ly’Dashia Smith; grandparents, Aricia Edwards, Linda Edwards, and Marcus (Stanesia) Rice; brothers, Elijah Smith and Emanual Smith; sisters, Ry’Leigh Smith and Ja’Liyah Smith, all of Chattanooga; uncles, Jovontae Courtney, Marvin (Yetonia) Edwards, and Carlos (Arnesia) Edwards; aunts, Endiya (Imeobong) Isang of Milwaukee, WI, Kerika Rice, Makeishia Langston, both of Chattanooga, and Alicia (Tyrus) Martin of Louisville, KY; a host of cousins; other relatives and friends. Joshua will lie-in-state on Monday, July 1, 2024, from 12:30-5:00 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at 12 noon in the chapel with Minister Yulvoncia O’Bryant as the Eulogist. Burial in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
