Josephine Wortham, 66, of Chattanooga, passed away Friday, December 30, 2022, in a local healthcare facility. She was a 1974 graduate of Howard High School. She attended Morgan State University. Josephine was a Social Worker for the State of Maryland. She was preceded in death by her father, Willie Barnett.; mother, Margie Shropshire; brother, Willie Joe Barnett; sister, Gretchen Denice Reed. Survivors include her son, John F. (Dorenda) Wortham of Baltimore, MD; daughters, Samantha I. Oliver, Sabrina M. Wortham, and Terry L. Richer, all of Baltimore; grandchildren, Jason Bentley Davis, Jeremy Bennett Davis, John Gabriel Wortham, Noah Josiah Wortham, Chutney Serenity Wortham, Destiny Alexis Davis, Joshua Noel Gray, John Fitzgerald Wortham, Janae Subidad Wortham, Jada Marie Wortham, Dontae Amar Hester, Josephine LaVern Haire, Jade Amari Simmons, and Paris Simmons; great-grandson, Lucious M.P. Gray; sister Bernadine (LeBron) Elder of Chattanooga and E. Michelle (Roland) Kyser of Pensacola, FL; special niece, Maurgaurette Rutledge of Chattanooga; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.
