Jonathan James Byers, 64, of Chattanooga, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2024. Jonathan attended Booker T. Washington. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Lula Byrd Johnson; grandfather, Leonard Pucket; mother, Lorene Turner Byers; wife, Maria Byers; sister, Paula Byers Ferguson; nephew, Kenny Byers. Survivors include son, Jonathan Byers of Killeen, TX; daughters, Jonae Genosier, Dawnzalea Byers both of Chattanooga, and J Byers El of Atlanta, GA; step-daughter, Tamala McDuffie; grandchildren, Raja Byers, Garland Eastman, Jermarcus Byers, Mariah Byers, Sirjah Finch El, Maya McDuffie, Deja McDuffie, and Nila Williams; great-grandchildren, Peyton Williams, Paisley Williams; brother, Ronnie Byers of Atlanta, GA; a host of cousins, and other relatives and friends. Memorial service will be on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home. The repast will be at 4:30 p.m at 6220 Shallowford Road, Waterford Apartments Club House.
