Johnny Douglas Jennings' Obituary
Johnny Douglas Jennings, 75, of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2023, in a local hospital. He was a veteran of the United States Armed Forces, having served in the Army as well as the Air Force. Johnny attended Covington Bible College and was a member and Deacon at North River Bible Baptist Church. He was formerly employed by Wheland Foundry as well as Memorial Hospital. Johnny was preceded in death by his mother, Minnie Witlow; father, Morris Jennings; grandmother, Odie Jennings; grandfather, John Alf Jennings; and several uncles and aunts. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Barbara J. Jennings; sons, Jason (Danielle) Jennings and Marcus Smith, both of Chattanooga; daughters, Jessica Jennings of Alaska and Pebbles Caldwell (Tony Cole) of Chattanooga; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grand-children; sisters, Marjie Love and Ethel B. Green, both of Chattanooga; several nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Johnny will lie-in-state on Monday, October 16, 2023, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery with Pastor Dr. John Geeter giving words of comfort.
