Uncle John was a very kind person and a loving family man. We did not get to see him too often because we always lived so far away .We occasionally spoke to him by phone and he was always so polite and glad to hear from us. Uncle John was our last uncle and we truly loved and respected him. We will miss him.

Monica,
So sorry for your loss. Sending Thoughts and Prayers to you and family.🙏

Lifting Monica and the entire family in prayer for strength, comfort and peace.

I have known the Watkins family every since our family moved across the street from them over 50 years ago. If I wasn't at home, you could bet the farm that I was at the Watkins' home. They are my 2nd family. Uncle John was a man of strength, integrity, discipline, structure and independence. He was a quiet man but when he spoke, it was like E. F. Hutton, everyone listened! I must admit growing up I was scared of Uncle John but as I became an adult, I came to understand this gentle giant. To Aunt Pat, my big brother Eric, my FOREVER BEST FRIEND/Sister Monica and my little sister Kim, words cannot express the love I have for you all. A link in your chain is now gone but it did not weaken your strength. Your chain is now shorter but it pulls you closer. I will continue to be there and support you in whatever you need. I love you all FOREVER AND ALWAYS.
