John Sanderfur's Obituary
John Sanderfur, 'Lil John', 91, of Chattanooga, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2022. He served in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge at the end of his service time. He was formerly employed as an Automotive Technician. He drove a cab for over 50 years. John was a man who cherished and loved his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Solomon Sanderfur and Ida Sanderfur; daughter, Karen Sanderfur, who he loved dearly; sisters, Betty Westbrook, Louise Murphy, and Myrtle Battle; brothers, Willie Sanderfur and William Sanderfur. Survivors include his brother, Lloyd (Patricia) Sanderfur of Shelbyville, TN; sisters, Hattie Benn of California, Ervina Jarrett of Nashville, and Janice Upton of Spring City, TN; beloved niece and caretaker, Jillian Sanderfur; great-nephew, Jullien Sanderfur, with whom he had a special bond; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Bro. John R. Taylor, Sr. will be the eulogist.
