John Jackson, Jr.'s Obituary
John William “Jackie” Jackson, Jr., 71, of Chattanooga, passed away Friday, February 11, 2022, at his residence. He attended Howard High School and was a member of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church. John worked for the City of Chattanooga for many years. He was a humble person that enjoyed life. He loved his family, especially his kids, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. John will be truly missed by his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jackson; grandparents, Jesse and Gladys Jackson; father, John W. Jackson, Sr.; son, John W. Jackson II; brother, Harold Jackson; and many other close relatives. Survivors include his daughters, Stacey Edwards-Jackson of Chattanooga and Angela Jackson of Springfield, OH; sons, John W. Jackson, III, Michael (Jill) Summerow, Terrance Jackson (Andrea), all of Chattanooga, and Antonio (Edna) Wilson of Springfield, OH; mother, Opal Lee Jackson of Chattanooga; sisters, Constance (Junior) Rollins of Chattanooga, Cordia (Steven) Stephens of Springfield, OH and Toyia (James) Brown of Cleveland, OH; 17 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; uncles and aunts, Nathaniel and Ronnie (Renee) Jackson both of Chattanooga, Willard (Phyllis) Jackson of Cleveland, OH, Gladys Marie Thompson of Chattanooga, and Mary Jackson of Cleveland, OH; brother and sister-in-law; Noah McLemore Jr., Linda Edwards, and Ethel McLemore, all of Chattanooga; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Pastor Gerald Penn will be the eulogist.
