John Edward Heard's Obituary
John Edward “Johnny” Heard, 84, of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2022, in a local healthcare facility. He was born August 16, 1937, in Oglethorpe, Georgia to Robert and Irene Turner Heard. He served for 6 months in the United States Navy as a Private and was honorably discharged in 1957. Johnny was employed by Shaw Industries for many years and retired at the age of 65 years. He attended Mt. Peria Baptist Church in Ringgold, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Irene Heard; and sister, Mary Lee Taylor. Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 46 years, Patsy Heard; two sons, John A. (Tammy) Heard and Roger (Genora) Heard; a devoted stepson, Timothy (Quee) Keith; one sister, Bernice Marie Watson; two brothers, Alfredo (Sandra) Heard and Thomas (Jean) Heard; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; a devoted nephew, Terry (Debbie) Heard, who visited him frequently; several nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Pastor Bernard Heard will be the eulogist.
