John Willie Cross, Jr.'s Obituary
John Willie Cross, Jr., 66, of Chattanooga, passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at his residence. He was a 1972 graduate of Howard High School. He was a member of First Corinthians Baptist Church where he sang in the choir. John loved his grandchildren and going fishing. He was preceded in death by his son, John Cross II; parents, John and Josephine Cross, Sr.; and grandmother, Vera Thornton. Survivors include his son, Démonte Cross, Sr. of Chattanooga; daughters, Shaun (Travis, Sr.) Young of Atlanta, GA, Leonetta White, Miracle McLemore, and LaKesha (Aurelya Taylor) White, all of Chattanooga; thirteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Jesse (Joyce) Thornton of Wildwood, GA and Frankie Cross of Chattanooga; a host of other relatives and friends. Pastor Gerald Penn will serve as the eulogist.
