John King Braggs' Obituary
John King Braggs, 88, of Chattanooga, was summoned from his earthly home to the place of eternal rest on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, in a local healthcare facility. He was born September 23, 1934, the third child to Albert Bragg, Sr. and Betty Hood-Bragg in Lexington, Mississippi. John has lived in several cities throughout the states: Michigan, Illinois, Ohio, Florida, and Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anne; father, Albert Bragg; stepmother, Mary Bragg; one brother, Albert Bragg Jr.; and three sisters, Bertha Springer, Margaret Seay, and Sarah Gaston. Survivors include five children, sons, John Anthony (Edna), Larry (Kathy) both of Chattanooga, and Lebron of Virginia; daughters, Peggy Bragg and Valerie Polk both of Chattanooga; five brothers, Jessie, Lester (Callie) and Norman, all of Chattanooga, Elder Willie (Mary) of Mobile, AL, and Elder Samuel (Rella) of Evansville, IN; two sisters, Mattie (Lebron) Russell and Patsy (Elder Clyde) Rudd of Jackson, MS; 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be Friday, June 9, 2023, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Willie J. Bragg as the eulogist.
