John Howard Baker's Obituary
John Howard Baker, 65, of Chattanooga, passed away Saturday, September 18, 2021, in a local hospital. He was a 1975 graduate of Kirkman Technical School. John was a truck driver for Estes Express Lines and retired as a radio DJ after many years of service. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lizzie Baker; father, Jimmy Davis; sisters, Fannie Cooper Arnold and Jessie Mae Baker Crook; niece, Barbara Jean Davis; brothers, William Franklin Baker and Willie James Baker; granddaughter, Jasmine Necole Hines. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Johnnie Mae Baker; daughters, Melissa Miller of Atlanta, GA, LaKisha Baker of Chattanooga, Nicole Baker of Los Angeles, CA, and Rochelle (Donnie) Parker of Chattanooga; 8 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; brothers, Robert Baker of Chattanooga and Leland Baker of Marietta, GA; sisters, Tecelia Keaton of Chattanooga and Ruthie Davis Richburgh of Detroit, MI; several nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Brother John R. Taylor, Sr. will serve as the eulogist.
