Joel Deon Harris' Obituary
Joel “Boo” Deon Harris, 56, of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2024, in a local hospital. As a youth, he was a member of Olivet Baptist Church. He was a 1986 graduate of Howard High School. Joel was a self-employed truck driver. He was preceded in death by his father, Larry D. Harris; grandparents, Lorriane Malone, Ollie Malone, Dayton Harris, Sr., Georgia Harris, and J. Jackson. Survivors include his mother, Jo Ann Malone Harris of Chattanooga; brother, Larry Smith of California; sisters, Veronica Smith of Memphis, TN, Roslyn Harris-Tyler of Chattanooga, and Jennifer (Clee) Jackson of Porter, TX; a host of nephews; devoted cousin, Mitchell “Boonie” Lewis; other relatives and friends. A memorial service for Joel will be Friday, February 16, 2024, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Elder Albert Grimes as the eulogist.
