Joe Deforrest Kidd's Obituary
Joe Deforrest Kidd, 65, of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, November 18, 2024, in Wildwood, Georgia at the residence of his son. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. Joe was born on August 13, 1959, to the late Mr. Joe C. Kidd, Jr. and Mrs. Sarah E. Kidd. He worked at Wheland Foundry for 26 years. He also drove for Old Dominion for 19 years and was later employed by Sanofi company. Joe was a member of Bethel AME church, a member of Sons 9 Allen, and a trustee. Joe was an artist who loved to draw and was a huge fan of the Chicago Bears. He is preceded in death by his twin brother; twin sister; niece, Ms. Puddie; grandson of Mr. & Mrs. Lester Trother; Mr. & Mrs. Forrest C. Smith; wife of 39 years, Teresa Kidd. Survivors include his twin sons, Micah and Makal McFall Kidd; mother, Sarah Elizabeth Kidd; sisters, Sarah I. Wheeler and Tammia Y. Ware; niece, Donita D. Abernathy of Chattanooga; aunts, Cheri Mitchell of Chattanooga and Forrestina Favors of Detroit, MI; favorite cousin, Joann Byron of Chattanooga; a host of other cousins, relatives, and friends. Joe will lie-in-state on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 12 noon in the chapel with Brother Andre Massengile as the eulogist. Burial in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
