Jimmy Lee Pringle's Obituary
Jimmy Lee Pringle, 85, formerly of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at his Huntsville, Alabama residence. He was born in Meridian, Mississippi on May 23, 1939. His parents moved him to Chattanooga, Tennessee at an early age. He was a long-time member of Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church where he loved singing in the male chorus. Later, he united with Mount Peria Baptist Church of Ringgold, Georgia and Greater Tucker Missionary Baptist Church. Jimmy retired from the United Parcel Service (UPS) after a 30-year term of service. He was a graduate of Howard High School, Class of 1958, and attended Tennessee State University. He was an active member of the South Side Family Reunion. Jimmy was always a hard worker, and he ensured his family was well taken care of. He was a people person that never met a stranger. He enjoyed dancing, singing, and being the life of the party. He also loved fashion. He was always a sharp dresser, and he briefly owned a clothing business. His favorite hobbies were bowling and shooting pool. Most importantly, Jimmy enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, George and Artie Marie Pringle; sister, Georgia Richardson; brother, George Edward Pringle; and best friend, Leroy Parks. Those left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of sixty-five years, Edna Pringle; devoted son, Timothy (Annette) Pringle of Huntsville, AL; daughters, Kimberly (Wynn) Morgan of Corinth, TX and Tina Marie Pringle of Carrollton, TX; sister, Dorris Barnett of Fairfield, CA; grandchildren, Autumn Pringle of Dallas, TX, Tony Davis of Allen, TX, Taylor Davis of Allen, TX, Breanna (Sean) Hatcher of Carrollton, TX; Chad Pringle of Huntsville, AL, and Joshua Smith of McKinney, TX; five great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jimmy will lie-in-state on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Greater Tucker Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 noon with Pastor Gary Hathaway as the Eulogist. Burial in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East. Arrangements are by Taylor Funeral Home of Chattanooga, Inc.
