Jimmy Lee Clark's Obituary
Jimmy Lee Clark, 64, of Chattanooga, transitioned to his new home on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at his residence. He was born June 10, 1961 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Mattie Green and the late James Clark. He was educated in the Chattanooga City School System and graduated from Kirkman Technical High School.
He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1979 and served a four-year term. He was a well-known chef and worked at various restaurants throughout Chattanooga and Tullahoma areas for many years. Those who were privileged to know Jimmy knew he had a soft sensitive soul and loved to joke. He will be remembered for his kindness and will be forever missed in our hearts.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mable J. Brown; grandfather, Enos Brown; stepfather, Deacon Edward Fowlkes; father, James Clark; and brother, Jeffery Burney.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories his mother, Mattie Fowlkes; son, JerMichael Clark; daughter, DeShunna Clark; granddaughter, JaMaya Clark; four brothers, Bonnie Burney, Larry Burney, Clifford (Monica) Burney, and Minister Allen (Vanessa) Burney; four sisters, Wanda Brown, Donna Marie Hall, Angela DeLaughter, and Elizabeth Smith, all of Chattanooga; special friends, Angela Bickerstaff and Johnny McMillan; a host of aunts; uncles; cousins; nieces; and nephews.
The family would like to share a sincere and heart-filled appreciation to Hospice of Chattanooga for their services, as well as Erlanger Hospital Center of Oncology.
Jimmy will lie-in-state on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, from 12:30-5:00 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel with Minister Allen Burney as the Eulogist. Burial in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
