Jerry Garner's Obituary
Jerry Dewitt Garner was born on May 3, 1983, in Chattanooga, Tennessee to George Sr. and Neilda Jean Garner. He attended Orange Grove Center in Chattanooga for over 30 years as both a daily client and an in-home client.
Jerry was known for his joyful personality, delightful smile, and his love of football.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Sr. and Neilda Jean Garner.
On Monday, September 8, 2025, Jerry departed this earthly life in CHI Memorial Hospital. Cherishing his memories include his brothers, James Alvin Garner, George Garner Jr., both of Huntsville, AL, Charles Garner of Memphis, TN, Charles Ramsey of Cleveland, MS, Eric Lewis of Alexandria, VA, and Cedric Garner of Mississippi; sisters, Gwendolyn Garner, of Memphis, Glory Talley, Kimberly Garner and Tangela Garner, both of Nashville, TN; one uncle, Charles (Gloria) Garner of Chicago, IL; three aunts, Ophelia Taylor of Chattanooga, Dr. Gladys Kendrick of Lynnwood, IL, and Maggie (Louis) Campbell of Indianola, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Jerry will lie-in-state on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at 12:00 noon at Greenwood Cemetery with Brother John R. Taylor, Sr. offering Words of Comfort.
