Jeffery Eugene Moorer Sr.'s Obituary
Jeffery Eugene “Big Moe” Moorer, Sr., formerly of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at his Russellville, Tennessee residence. He was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on May 4, 1966 to Smiley Mae and Eugene Moorer, Jr. He attended Kirkman High School. Jeffery was an over-the-road truck driver for over 30 years. He was a loving husband, devoted father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his mother, Smiley Mae-Crum Moorer; father, Eugene Moorer, Jr.; siblings, Joann Moorer, Willie Moorer, and Rodney Moorer; mother-in-law, Carolyn Tisdahl. Survivors include his devoted wife, Karen Woods-Moorer; children, LaToya (Jeremy Little) Moorer, Jeffery Moorer, Jr., Iesha Moorer, Ashley (Michael) Mclean, and Destinie Moorer; stepdaughter, Shaniqua Woods; stepson, Jeremiah Woods; 14 grandchildren; siblings, Deborah (Rick) Spivey, Shirley (Stephen) Simmons, Gregory Moorer, Sr., and Wanda (Hugh) Abner; brother-in-law, Tracy Woods; sister-in-law, Courtney Lattimore; aunt, Lola Mae Wilson; close friends, Larry Bush, Calvin Cooper, and Donald Sterling; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Jeffery will lie-in-state on Friday, August 18, 2023, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 12 noon in the chapel with Pastor Gerald Penn as the eulogist. Burial in Highland Memorial Gardens.
