Jeanetta Gilliam's Obituary
Jeanetta “Red” Gilliam, 72, of Chattanooga, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2022 in the Hospice Care Center. She was born December 19, 1949, to Eugene and Gertrude Henderson. She attended Riverside High School. Jeanetta was formerly employed by Church of Jesus Kindergarten and also Bi-Lo until her health began to decline. She was a dedicated member of Rose of Sharon Baptist Church where she worked with the Children’s Choir. Jeanetta was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Gilliam, Jr.; parents, Eugene and Gertrude Henderson; sister, Velma Henderson; niece, Patricia Davis; and brother-in-law, Steven McGowan. Survivors include her son, James Lebron (Jacqueline) Gilliam, III; daughter, Janice Green both of Chattanooga; goddaughter, Dr. Elenora Woods of Chattanooga; 5 grandchildren, Tanisha Estes, Lanisha McDonald, Kimberly Gilliam, Tiffany Hampton, and Jamari Allen; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Eugene Henderson, Jr. of Lebanon, TN and Richard Ervin; sisters, Virginia Jo McGowan and Diane (Walt Lewis) Jones, all of Chattanooga; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Pastor Charles E. Moore will serve as the eulogist.
