Jaylen Wynn's Obituary
Jaylen “Jay” Lebron Wynn, 29, of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2025. He was born November 30, 1996, and was the quietest of three sons. He didn’t desire to be the focus of anything or by anyone; he was pretty simple. Jaylen’s presence was a steady source of love and warmth to his family and those who knew him well.
Jaylen found joy in life’s simple pleasures-eating, sleeping, and watching television were among his favorite pastimes. Yet beneath his calm and easygoing nature, he was very industrious and committed to any task set before him. Whether it was in sports, helping around the house, or at work Jaylen gave his best effort. On the field he played hard “like a beast" as his big brother TayVaughn would fondly say yet Jaylen really didn’t like football.
Because of Jaylen’s love for food, he was determined to learn how to cook his favorite food even as a young child, so he would often ask his mother for the recipes. Jay was very meticulous and his mom can recall just within this last year how they spent many hours making sure he had all the ingredients needed and each step done just right until the final dish was completed.
Jaylen’s life was also marked by his dedication to deepening knowledge about God’s word; he had many questions as he did his best to serve the Lord. In addition to Jaylen being quiet he was kind, loving, and a sharer, he would often ask his mother to order items or take him shopping to purchase items to give to those in need. And as we said earlier, he loves to eat so he picked up baking again because as a kid he liked to bake brownies from a box but as an adult he mastered apple dumplings from scratch. He would bake a couple of pans often so that he could share with his friends, his mom, and take to early Sunday service brunch. His compassion for people was genuine and reflected his heart for service to others.
Although Jaylen was quiet, he will be remembered as a beloved son, brother, and friend whose quiet strength, kindness, and love touched many lives. He was that light that peaked through and although he is gone that light will forever remain right here in our hearts.
A memorial service for Jaylen will be Friday, August 22, 2025, at 4 p.m. in the Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home.
