Janis Belinda Hudson Thomas' Obituary
Janis Belinda Hudson Thomas, 72, of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2023, in the Hospice Care Center. She was a 1969 graduate of Howard High School and attended Knoxville College. She was a member of Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Clothing Drive Ministry. She retired from the Computer Science Corporation. Janis was preceded in death by her mother, Florine Grace; father, Monroe Hudson, Jr.; husband, Reginald Thomas, Jr; and stepson, Troy Johnson. Survivors include her daughters, Shauna Thomas and Monique (John) Thompson, both of Washington, DC; grandchildren, Reginald Anderson, Demetrius Thomas, Christopher Thompson, and McKenzie Thompson; great-grandchildren, Tyler Anderson and Sevyn Anderson; brother, Alonza Grace, Jr. of Chattanooga; sister, Anita Talley of Chattanooga; sister-in-love, Jean Thomas; stepsons, Reginald Johnson, and Avery Thomas; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends. Janis will lie-in-state on Sunday, November 5, 2023, from 10:00-1:45 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Anthony Williams as the eulogist. Burial will be in Washington, DC.
