Janie Murlene McDuffie's Obituary
Janie Murlene McDuffie, 91, of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at her residence. She was employed by Chattanooga Human Services as a social worker for many years. She also worked as a “GRANNY” with Hardy Elementary. She was a lifelong member of Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church. She loved and faithfully served on the Someone To Care Ministry. Janie was preceded in death by her father, Edward B. Norris; mother, Magnolia Norris; 7 brothers; 1 sister; and daughter, Janie Williams Powell. Survivors include her daughters, Prophetess Denise (Johnny) Tippit of McDonough, GA, Ameenah House of Chattanooga, and Sandra Ross of San Diego, CA; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, John (Faye) Norris of Orlando, FL; sister, Glenda (George) Williams of Chattanooga; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Pastor Jeffrey T. Wilson is officiating and Pastor Samuel Jackson is the eulogist.
