Janice Cerenia Pinheiro's Obituary
Janice Cerenia Pinheiro, 57, of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, September 26 2024, in a local nursing home. Born on February 5th, 1967, in Kingston, Jamaica, Janice Cerenia Tracey was the daughter of Owen and Adassa Tracey. Janice was not only a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many, but she was also a light in the lives of everyone she touched. Her family migrated to New York when Janice was just six years old, and she grew up as a dedicated member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. She attended Seventh-Day Adventist private schools, excelling academically and even graduating high school early. Her path led her to Southern Adventist University, where she earned her nursing degree and went on to touch countless lives over her 20 years of service in the nursing field. Janice found joy in skiing down snowy mountains and feeling at peace in the water. She loved to travel, constantly seeking new adventures and creating beautiful memories with every trip. She captured those moments through the countless pictures she took along the way, images we now cherish as a reminder of her vibrant spirit and the joy she found in exploring the world. Yet, at the core of all her adventures and joys, family was her true foundation. Her children and loved ones were her pride, her motivation, and her greatest purpose. Janice's love was fierce, unwavering, and pure, and she had a heart so expansive that it seemed to hold a place for everyone she encountered. Her presence was always a source of warmth and comfort, and she possessed the incredible ability to make each person feel seen, valued, and loved—no matter what was happening around her. Though the pain of losing her is immense, we find comfort in the profound legacy of love she leaves behind. Janice taught us to love without reservation, to give selflessly, and to find joy in both the extraordinary and the everyday. She lived a full, beautiful life, and although she is no longer physically with us, her spirit will forever remain in our hearts, guiding us in how we love and cherish one another. Janice is survived by her beloved children, Tiphani Shontel Shanice Jackson (Pinheiro) and Lloyd Anthony Pinheiro Jr.; cherished grandchildren, Isabella Grace Jackson and Olivia Faith Jackson; dear siblings, Yvonne Tracey, Spencer Tracey, Norman Tracey, Maxine Tracey, Patrick Tracey, Rosemarie Cadette Tracey, Leon Tracey; many nieces; nephews; friends who will forever hold her in their hearts. We love you, Janice. You will be forever missed, but never forgotten. Janice will lie-in-state on Thursday, October 10, 2024 from 12:30 to 5:00 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 11, 2024 at 12:00 noon in the chapel. Burial in Highland Memorial Gardens.
