James W. Stockdale, Jr.'s Obituary
James W. “June Bug” Stockdale, Jr., 66, of Chattanooga, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2023, in the Hospice Care Center after a brief illness. He was born in Chattanooga Tennessee, August 4, 1956, to the late Mr. and Mrs. James Stockdale, Sr. He graduated from Central High School in 1974 and attended Chattanooga State Community College where he studied Computer Science. He worked much of his career at Erlanger Medical Center and the Krystal Company before retiring. James loved and adored his family and friends, his animal, tennis, and a good fish fry. James was a crossword puzzle enthusiast. Otherwise, James lived a simple happy life. James was a lifelong member of Orchard Missionary Baptist Church, where his father served his church for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Stockdale, Sr. and Doris Stockdale; grandparents, Archie and Velma Church and Carnell and Maebell Woods. James is survived by his sisters, Letitia Tatum of Atlanta, GA, Angela Smith, and Audrey Stockdale, both of Chattanooga, TN; one niece, Terrious Smith; two nephews, Brandon Tatum and Cameron Tatum, Sr; three great-nephews, Javon Tatum, Jaylen Tatum, and Cameron Tatum, Jr.; one great- niece, Angelica Smith; one great-great-niece, Autumn Smith; one aunt, Addie Elston; several cousins; relatives; close friends, Vivian Brown, Bryant Lowery, Elaine Swafford, and David Green.
