James Lipton Petty's Obituary
James Lipton “Jim” Petty, 69, of Ooltewah, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2020 in the Hospice Care Center. He was a 1969 graduate on Riverside High School. He received his FCC license in Electronics and Electricity from DeVry University in Chicago, IL. James was a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). He owned and operated Jim’s TV Service Company. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Darius Pickett; parents, Cabe and Eula Mae Petty, Sr.; brothers, Frankie Petty, William Humphrey, Cabe Petty, Jr., Robert Petty, and Carl Petty; sister, Rosa Wallace. Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Mary Petty; son, Brain Petty of Minneapolis, MN; daughters, Essie Green of Huntsville, AL, Priscilla (Stanley) Postell, Andrea (Timothy) Moore, and Linda (Minister Dale) Edmonds, all of Chattanooga; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Larry Petty of Nashville; sisters, Hazel Ross, Mary Baker, and Linda Taylor, all of Chattanooga. Minister Dale Edmonds will serve as the eulogist.
