Jamecia Jennings' Obituary
Jamecia Hullett Jennings, 56, of Chattanooga, peacefully transitioned to her eternal home with the Lord, on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, in a local healthcare facility. She was born on January 15, 1969, in Chattanooga, Tennessee to her beloved parents, John and Betty Hullett. From a young age, Jamecia dedicated her life to the Lord and was a devoted member of Second Missionary Baptist Church (SMBC). She participated in the youth choir during her formative years at SMBC. Jamecia was presently a member of the Nurses Guild. She also found immense joy in participating and being a part of the Women’s Ministry at Second Missionary Baptist.
Jamecia received her education in Chattanooga Public Schools, graduating from Brainerd High School in 1987. She continued her studies at Middle Tennessee State University, where she proudly joined Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Later, she attended Covenant College, earning a Bachelor of Science degree. A lifelong learner, Jamecia furthered her knowledge in nursing through taking additional classes at Southern University. She dedicated her career to the Nursing profession because she found joy in taking care of others.
Jamecia worked at Hamilton County Schools and several medical facilities in the Chattanooga community. She found great joy in taking care of the students’ medical needs at Rivermont Elementary and working with the elderly at Hamilton County Nursing Home. Jamecia was known for compassionate care, taking the time to connect with her patients, regardless of their age, and always making a meaningful impact on their lives through her care.
With a great flair for fashion, Jamecia excelled in design and decorating. She was always willing to help others decorate and create beautiful environments. Above all, she cherished her family and found immense joy in being a mother.
Jamecia was preceded in death by her father, Deacon John Franklin Hullett, Sr. She leaves behind her beloved son, Connor Jennings; devoted mother, Betty Hullett; devoted brother, John Franklin Hullett, Jr.; several cousins; and a host of friends.
Jamecia will lie-in-state on Friday, July 11, 2025, at 9 a.m. at Second Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral service will follow at 12 noon with Rev. Dr. Ernest L. Reid, Jr. as the Eulogist. Burial in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East. Arrangements are by Taylor Funeral Home of Chattanooga, Inc.
