Izear Carpenter's Obituary
Izear Carpenter, 82, of Chattanooga, passed away Friday, November 8, 2024, at his residence. He was born October 10, 1942, in Corinth, Mississippi. He retired from Brock Candy Company after many years of service. Izear was a member of Stanley United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Methodist Men and Men’s Choir. Izear was also a Mason. He was preceded in death by his father, John Carpenter; mother, Mae-dell Walker; and brother, James Alexander. Survivors include his devoted wife of 61 years, Mary Carpenter; sons, Timothy Carpenter of Cameron SC, Barak Carpenter, John Paul Carpenter, and Prince (Maryum Masood) Muhammad, all of Chattanooga; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary A. Campbell of Tupelo, MS; several nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Izear will lie-in-state on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 3:30 p.m. in the chapel with Prince Muhammad as the Eulogist. Burial will be Monday, November 18, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
