Inez R. Clift's Obituary
Inez Clift, 81, of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2024, in her home. She was a graduate of Howard High school class of 1961. Inez furthered her education by attending Tennessee State University and Harvard Diversity Night school. She was a member of New Zion Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Treasury, Church Hospitality, and Media organizations. Inez worked and retired from the Compton Post Office after 30 plus years of service. Inez was in the care of her son and daughter-in-law, where she passed peacefully at home. Inez is preceded in death by her parents, Pleas and Maebell Reid; sisters, Patricia Reid, Annie Doris Cunningham, and Maezell Reid Childress; brother, Willie Joe Reid; niece, Pamela Lynn Childress; nephew, Gerald Reid, Sr.; aunt, Dot Allen and Rena Swint. Survivors include her son, Roderick (Sherrlynn) Clift of Manor, TX; special brother-in-law, James Cunningham of Chattanooga; niece, Wanda (Jimmy) Whatley and Sherrill Satterwhite both of Chattanooga; nephews, Michael (Sharonda) Cunningham of Fullerton, CA and Bryant Cunningham of Chattanooga; aunt, Annie Lewis of Conley, GA; special cousin, Leola Phelps; special friends, Minister Robert and Emma Cooley, Linda McKlerdine, and Floyd Arnold. Inez will lie-in-state on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at New Zion Baptist Church. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Michael Montgomery as the eulogist.
