Inetta King's Obituary
Inetta King, 88, of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at her residence. She was born on April 24, 1935, in Tallapoosa, Alabama and reared in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late Alonzo Sr. and Cleo Wright. Inetta was a 1953 graduate of Howard High School and was employed by the DuPont Company for thirty-five years. She was an avid bowler and a member of the North Tower Forest Neighborhood Association. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Alonzo Wright, Jr. and Carl Wright; one sister, Bonnie Montgomery. Inetta is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Robert King; one step-daughter, Gwendolyn Thompson (Melvin); two step-granddaughters, Melyn and Marissa; two step-great-grandchildren; brothers, Wilbert Wright and Richard (Anita) Wright of Dayton, Ohio; sisters-in-law, Mary Jackson of Oceanside, CA , Johnnye Appleberry of Chattanooga, TN, Darlene Wright and Jackie Wright, both of Dayton, OH; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Inetta will lie-in-state on Monday, July 24, 2023, at 9 a.m. at St. Elmo Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church with Pastor Billy Church as the eulogist. Burial in Chattanooga National Cemetery. Arrangements are by Taylor Funeral Home of Chattanooga, Inc.
