Herman Locklin's Obituary
Herman Locklin, 77, of Chattanooga, passed away Friday, October 11, 2024, at his residence. He was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Herman was in the Male Choir, President of the Men Layman, and Class #9 Sunday School C. Herman will truly be missed. Herman is preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. William Suratt; parents, Roy Locklin, Sr. and Alice Suratt Locklin; brothers, Roy Locklin, Jr., Willie James Locklin, and Robert Lee Locklin; and sister, Nellie Locklin. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Brenda Locklin; sons, Anthony Mayes and Rodney Jones both of Chattanooga; daughters, Jennifer Locklin of Chattanooga and Alice Jones of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Shandon Mayes of Nashville, TN, Jasmine Mayes, Ikasia Charles, Keionna Charles, Keyshon Charles, Daricka Jones, and Jason Jones; brother, Alan Locklin, Sr. of Chattanooga; sister, Shirley Thompson of Chattanooga; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Herman will lie-in-state on Friday, October 25, 2024, from 10-11 a.m. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Pastor Wayne L. Johnson as the eulogist. Burial in Chattanooga National Cemetery. Arrangements are by Taylor Funeral Home of Chattanooga, Inc.
