Hennie Jo Wade's Obituary
Hennie Jo Wade “Nonnie”, 85, of Chattanooga, peacefully transitioned in this lifetime on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at her residence. She was born into time on December 11, 1938, in Dadeville, Alabama to Charity Porch. Hennie was a high school graduate of the Dadeville, Alabama School System. She was a member of Zion Hill Baptist and later became (presently) a member of First Baptist Church of Washington Hills where she served in the Women’s ministry and was beloved by a host of members as well as family and friends. Hennie was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 50 years, Davie Daniel Wade; mother, Charity Porch; sisters, Alma Murphy, Lucille Thurman, Mary King, Francis Ruffin, and Nette Jean; brothers, Joe Porch, James Porch, Roosevelt “Dent” Porch, and Jesse Porch. She is survived by special daughters, Carolyn Justice (niece), Charity Holmes (niece), and Alma Justice (great-niece); special nephews, Tracy Justice and Maurice Wade; a host of other special nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Sylvester Murphy of Chattanooga, TN; bonus daughter, Deidra Adams; 4 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren, all of Eaton, GA; in-laws, S.B. Wade of Chattanooga, Jessie (Luverta) Wade of New Brunswick, NJ, Carrie Harden of Chattanooga, Lola Mae Morgan of Madison, GA, and Laura (Kenneth) Morton of New Brunswick NJ: god-children, Madison Hicks of Chattanooga and London King of Atlanta, GA; other relatives and friends. Hennie will lie-in-state on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Washington Hills with Pastor Ronnie Bullard as the eulogist. Burial on Monday, August 12, 2024, at 11 a.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
