Helen Ruth Robinson's Obituary
Helen Ruth Robinson, 90, of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2022, in a local hospital. She was born September 11, 1931, to Robert McGaughey and Grace Martin in Athens, Tennessee. She graduated from Cook High School in Athens and attended Morris College, studying Cosmetology. Helen relocated to Chattanooga, Tennessee doing domestic work and styling hair. She married her first husband, Charles Middleton in 1952 and had five children. She later met her second husband, Henry Robinson, married him on October 14, 1968. Helen was preceded in death by her father, Robert McGaughey; mother, Grace Martin; one son, Michael Middleton; one daughter, Leslie Underwood; and one grandson, Jeffery Daniel. Survivors include her husband, Henry Robinson; daughters, Charlotte Wells, Cheryl Lynn Middleton Martin, both of Chattanooga, and Leslie Denise Underwood of Cleveland, TN; sons, Michael Middleton and Anthony Middleton Clemments; stepsons, Vincent Waller, all of Chattanooga and Michael Robinson; ten grandchildren, Anthoine Parks, Chasity Parks, Rhonda Nakisha Underwood, Jermaine Underwood, Vincent Waller, Jr., Hailey Waller, Myra Murphy, Michael Middleton, Jr., Denise Middleton, Anthony Middleton, Jr., Cordera Martin, Jayda Daniel, Julian Daniel, and Ryan Parks; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; two special sisters-in-law, Linda Petty and Madeline Hale; brother-in-law, Bill Petty; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives; special friends who helped care for Helen, Barbara Brad, Harold Brockman, and Albert Hitchcock and other friends. Pastor Brenda Benn is the eulogist.
