Harold Edward Taylor Sr.'s Obituary
Harold Edward Taylor, Sr. 75, of Chattanooga, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2022, at his residence. Harold was an extraordinary, selfless, kind man with a gentle heart. He was born on January 21, 1947, to Alfred and Elister Taylor. Harold was a 1966 graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. He received his formative education at Edmond and McKenzie College with a Business degree and was employed by the State of Tennessee for over 30 years. Harold was a loyal soldier of the United States Army where he served in the Vietnam War as well as Desert Storm. Harold was a devoted and loving husband to Brenda Taylor. Since May 30, 1972, he was a faithful, devoted, and loving father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and cousin. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Elister Taylor; sisters, Florence Turnbow, Helen Taylor, Alpha Collier, Clara Hughes, and Bernice Taylor; brothers, John Taylor and James Taylor. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Brenda Taylor; sons, Lydell (Kimberly) Moore and Harold (Terrica) Taylor, Jr.; daughters, Shawanna (Tommie) Moore and Hollan Taylor; 8 grandsons, Jarvis Stewart, Devonta (Tashara) Williams, Edward Taylor, Lydell Moore, Jr., Tommie Stewart, Nakia Moore, Lorenzo (Monica) Stewart, and Demetruis Edward, Jr.; 2 granddaughters, Kennedi Moore and Baleigh Moore; 2 great-grandsons, Jamarion Moore and Jacarion Moore; sisters, JoAnn (James) Harris, Elenora (Roy) Miller, and Sandra (Edward) Parker; sister-in-law, Mary (Donald) Sanderfur; brothers-in-law, Lionel (Margie) Moore and Charles Moore; special sons-in-law, Tommie Stewart and Demetruis Edward, Sr.; special friends, Jimmy (Loretta) Jenkins; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Pastor Lionel Moore will be the eulogist.
