Gregory Lamont Billingsley's Obituary
Gregory Lamont Billingsley, 56, formerly of Chattanooga, passed away Friday, September 12, 2025, in a San Pedro, California hospital. Gregory was born on August 18, 1969, in Chattanooga, Tennessee and was known as “Cole Slaw”.
Gregory was educated in the Chattanooga Public School System and through Job Corp. He loved his family and friends and always found a way to make others smile and laugh. He enjoyed cooking all types of meals and being on the beach. His favorite football team was the Denver Broncos and he enjoyed posting videos on Tiktok (Bo-On-Da-Rise).
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Faddie Billingsley, Sr. and Doretha Billingsley; brothers, Issac Payton and Hershel Payton; sisters, Ethel Mae Gilbert and Geraldine Payton.
Gregory is the youngest of his siblings and is survived by his sister, Diane Cosper and brothers, Bobby (Delphia) Billingsley, John Billingsley, Faddie Billingsley, Jr., all of Chattanooga, William Payton of Whitwell, TN, and Albert Billingsley of Los Angeles, CA. He is also missed by the love of his life, La Tonya Moore; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Gregory will lie-in-state on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. in the Chapel.
