Grady Lee Boynton's Obituary
Grady Lee “Shane” Boynton, 83, of Chattanooga, passed away Saturday, November 2, 2024, in a local hospital. He was born on November 27, 1940, in West Palm Beach, Florida to Mr. Frampton Allen and Mrs. Carrie Mae Boynton. The family relocated to Chattanooga, Tennessee in 1942, where our family united with Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, located on Redd Street in Onion Bottom under the leadership of Pastor Washington Flenoy. Grady loved the Lord which was the base of his conversations. His favorite Bible verse: (John 8:32) And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. He was affectionately known as “Shane” truly one of a kind with a heart of gold, touching the lives of all who came in contact with him. He attended Culinary Academy of Las Vegas Casino where he advanced to chef supervisor, until he retired after 40 years of services. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frampton and Carrie Boynton; sisters, Emma 1, Emma Lee Mathews 2, Gloria Jean Shepherd, Janice Bradley; brothers, Jimmy Lee Boynton; nephews, Anthony Shepherd, Michael Boynton, and Alex Lewis Boynton. He leaves to cherish his memories: his son whom he loved dearly, Savion Boynton; (his son’s mother, Rita Gildon); brothers, Alexander Boynton Sr. and Jeremiah Boynton, both of Chattanooga; sister, Frankie Ricks; several nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends. A Memorial Service will be Friday, November 15, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home of Chattanooga, Inc.
