Gracie Lamar Young Lounds' Obituary
Mrs. Gracie Lamar Young Lounds, 78, of Chattanooga, was called home on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 in a local hospital. She was a lifelong resident of the Fort Wood Historic District in Chattanooga. She was born to the late Clarence Young and Willie Mae Pass. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Tony S. Lounds; sons, Raymond Lounds and Steven T. Young. She was a devoted Mother and “Granny” to many. She was best known for her humor and love for all. Survivors include her children: Audrey (Byron) McClure, Angela Young of Powder Springs, GA, Tonnetta Lounds, Nicole Young of Jacksonville, FL, and Elleanor Young; one son, Edward (Wanda) Young; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; stepmother, Catherine Young of Detroit, MI; one brother, Jimmy Dyer; two sisters, Margie Young and Vanessa Jenkins of Detroit, MI; several nieces and nephews; devoted friend, Jeanne Trewhitt and family. Pastor Todd Lansden will serve as the eulogist.
