Gloria Jean Walker's Obituary
Gloria Jean Walker, 74, of Chattanooga, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2024. Gloria attended Riverside High School, class of 1967. She was a member of Thankful Missionary Baptist and was a minister’s wife. She is preceded in death by her father, Quincy Flanagan; mother, Louise Flanagan; brother, Martrella Flanagan. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Calvin S. Walker; son, Victor Burch of Chattanooga; daughters, Yulvoncia (Eric) O’Bryant, Veroncia (Varick) Whitehead both of Chattanooga; #1 grandson, Cordellio Bumpass; six grandchildren; eight & half great-grandchildren; brothers, Nathaniel Flanagan, James Flanagan both of Chattanooga, and Larry Flanagan of Atlanta, GA; sisters, Patricia Wade of Augusta, GA, Bernice Davis, Brenda Cooper, and Wanda Jackson of Chattanooga; dearest friend, Glenda Jones; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She will lie-in-state on Saturday, April 20, 2024, from 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. at Thankful Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral service to follow at 4:00 p.m. at the church with Pastor Calvin Walker as the eulogist. Burial on Monday, April 22, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery. Arrangements are by Taylor Funeral Home of Chattanooga, Inc.
