Geraldine Word's Obituary
Geraldine Word, 67, of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2022, in a local hospital. She graduated from Riverside High School and was a member of Second Missionary Baptist Church. Geraldine was preceded in death by her mother, Lannie Garner; grandmother, Essie Weston; sisters, Annette Mikes and Kassandra Garner. Survivors include her husband, Joseph Word of Chattanooga; son, Christopher (Marietta) Williams of Chattanooga; daughter, Contessa Garner of Chattanooga; granddaughter, Bryaunna Loyd; grandson, Chrystion McKibbon; great-granddaughter, Ahbry Al;ash; brothers, Leroy Garner and Lebron Garner, both of Chattanooga; mother-in-law, Marie N. Word of Chattanooga; sisters-in-law, Patricia Word of Chattanooga, Gloria (Arthur) Carlisle of Stockbridge, GA, Barbara (John) Brown, Linda (Gary) Tooks, Althea (Thomas) Smith, Iris L. Walker, and Gail (Walter) Russell, all of Chattanooga; brother-in-law, Charles L. Word of Chattanooga; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Dr. Ernest Reid, Jr. will serve as the eulogist.
