Geraldine "Bae Bae" Cotton's Obituary
Geraldine Cotton, 77, passed away on October 10, 2024, in Hixson, Tennessee. Born on December 12, 1946, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, she was a cherished member of the community and a beacon of kindness and humor. Geraldine graduated from Riverside High School in 1965 and furthered her education by becoming a certified CCU Monitor Technician. She dedicated 35 years to Erlanger Medical Center, where she was respected for her professionalism and cherished for her compassionate nature. Geraldine's approach to her work and her interactions were marked by a blend of humor and straightforwardness, earning her deep admiration from colleagues and friends alike. She was a devout attendee of Shiloh Baptist Church until her health declined. Her faith and the community she found there remained a significant part of her life. Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, James and Zettie Mae Cotton; her brothers, Bobby and Billy Cotton; and her sister, Barbara Stockdale. Geraldine was a loving mother to her only devoted child, Angel (Rodney, Sr.) Benford, a doting grandmother to Ashley and Rodney Benford, Jr., and a great-grandmother to Londyn Bolton. She is also survived by her siblings, sister, Mary L. Cotton; brothers, Larry (Marilyn) Cotton and William Cotton; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Geraldine leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and service, which will be cherished by her family, friends, and all who knew her. Geraldine will lie-in-state on Sunday, October 27, 2024, from 12:30-5:00 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held on Monday, October 28, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East with Minister Alan Coker giving words of comfort.
