Gerald Dominique McDuffie's Obituary
Gerald Dominique McDuffie was born in Waynesboro, Virginia on December 11,1989. The family moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee where he graduated from Red Bank High School in 2008. During high school, Dominique was a member of the Football, Basketball and Track teams. For college, Dominique attended Appalachian State University on a full scholarship to continue his academic and athletic career. During his career in sports, Dominique was known to be a tremendous athlete. He received numerous accolades while participating in sports. Dominique will not only be remembered for his athletic ability, but for his heart as well. He was kind, selfless, intelligent and left a lasting impression on anyone that he met. Dominique departed this earthly life on Friday, May 24, 2024, at the age of 34 years old. Dominique was preceded in death by his mother, Yolanda McDuffie; aunt, Maria Byers; and grandmother, Jaqueline Walker McDuffie. Cherishing his memories included his children, Taylor McDuffie, Kourtnee Robinson, Kasey McDuffie, Kaylee McDuffie and Dominique McDuffie; father, Larry Bryant, Jr.; sister, Courtney McDuffie; brothers, Niquia (Maria) McDuffie and Gabriel McDuffie; aunts, Trina (Tyrone) Powell and Marshena, Ali; great-uncles, Malcolm Walker and Ronald Walker; great-aunts, Diane (Joseph) Taylor, Betty Greatheart, and Dr. Juanita (Michael) Hoskins; and several loving cousins, nieces and nephews. He will lie-in-state on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel with Brother John R. Taylor, Sr. Burial in Highland Memorial Gardens.
