Georgia Ann Hooks' Obituary
Georgia Ann Hooks, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and community member, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 13th, 2025, at her residence in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Born on Sunday, October 24th, 1943, in Chattanooga, Georgia's life was a testament to love, dedication, and service to others. Georgia attended Howard High School. Her compassionate nature and unwavering commitment to helping others led her to a career as a Certified Nursing Assistant at CHI Memorial Hospital, where she dedicated many years to providing care and comfort to those in need.
A faithful servant of the Lord, Georgia was an active member and usher at Brainerd First Baptist Church. Her warmth and kindness will be remembered by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Georgia's life was enriched by her deep faith and her involvement in church activities, offering her time and love wherever needed.
She was welcomed into eternal rest by her parents, Edith B. McDaniel and George McDaniel; grandparents; James Brandon and Sarah Elliot Brandon; son, Homer Kevin Tucker; daughters, Edith Yvette Hubbard and Tonya McDaniel; granddaughter, Lakeisha Unique Allen who preceded her in death. Georgia leaves behind a legacy through her family. She is survived by her sons, David D. McDaniel and James Tucker, Jr.; her daughters, Patricia (Willie) Harris and Andrinna (Maurice) Davis; 52 grandchildren; 87 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren; cherished friend, Evelyn Taylor. Georgia Ann Hooks will be missed deeply, but her memory and love will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
A Lie-In-State will be held on Friday, December 5th, 2025, from 9:00 am to 11:30 am at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 noon at Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Ronald Tucker as the eulogist. Georgia will be laid to rest at Forest Hills Cemetery.
