George Calvin Palmer's Obituary
George Calvin Palmer, 81, of Chattanooga, passed away Saturday, November 27, 2021, in a local healthcare facility. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, where he served on the Usher Board. He was formerly employed by Vulcan Materials Company. George was preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Louise Palmer; brother, Earnest Palmer; sisters, Ella Louise Palmer and Julia Ann Palmer. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Dorothy Mae Boyd Palmer; son, Larry (Judy) Boyd of Decatur, AL; 7 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; brother, Howard (Betty) Palmer; sister, Bertha Smith, both of Chattanooga; sister-in-law, Lucy Young of Tanner, AL; brothers-in-law, O’neal (Jeanette) Houston of Florence, AL, Luther (Gladies) Thompson of Jackson, MS, and Paul (Shirley) Mason of Decatur, AL; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Pastor Wayne L. Johnson is the eulogist.
