George Ralph Hughley, Jr. was born May 1, 1934, in Atlanta, GA, to Glady Nash and George Hughley, Sr. George went to be with the Lord on June 4, 2026, at his residence in Chattanooga surrounded by his loving wife and daughter “Pocket”. George was a member of Armistice Lodge 440 of Chattanooga, TN, where he was emeritus.
George was preceded in death by his parents Glady Nash and George Hughley, Sr.; daughter, Cheslay Hughley; son, George “Lil” Hughley; granddaughter, Yoni Hughley; sister, Bernice Hughley; and brother, Terry Hughley.
George leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 42 years, Nancy Hughley; daughters, Fredia Morris, Connie Davenport, and Sophia (Floyd) King; sons, Ralph Hughley, Sr., Anthony (Patrice) Satterwhite, Darrell Satterwhite, Alonzo (Sandra) Satterwhite, Tommy (Michelle) Lazenby, Jr. and Edward D. Satterwhite; sisters, Glady Hughley, Rosa Hughley, Joyce Hughley, and Bonnie Hughley; brothers, Richard (Charlene) Lester, Sr., Tyrone Hughley, John Hughley, Joe (Kimberley) Combs, and Bobby Westbrooks; sister-in-law, Wanda (Brown) Satterwhite; 22 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Special thank you to Amedisys Home Health Care Hospice team.
He will lie-in-state on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 noon in the Chapel with Minister Jeffery Evans as the Eulogist.
