George Anthony Evans' Obituary
George Anthony Evans, 71, of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, April 12, 2021 in a local hospital. He was born March 21, 1950 to Mr. and Mrs. Samuel (Ruby Gordon) Evans. He was a graduate of Howard High School and Chattanooga State Community College. George was a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served in the United States Army. He retired as a Boilermaker from TVA Sequoyah Nuclear Plant. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Local 454 Chattanooga, Tennessee. George was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 47 years, Mrs. Linda Evans; loving daughters, Mrs. Lisa Evans (Corey) Thompson and Mrs. Renata Evans (Marcus) Hammond; his precious, darling granddaughters, Miss Aria Hammond and Miss Maliyah Thompson; sisters, Mrs. Constance Martin, Mrs. Marva Jane (James) Smith, Mrs. Nellie Ruth (late Freddie) Warren, Mrs. Samilla (Otheller) Turner, and Mrs. Christy (Shakir) Rashed; brothers, Mr. Vaughn (Deborah) Evans and Mr. Kenneth (Jacqueline) Evans; mother-in-love, Mrs. Daisy Dozier; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Veronica (Calvin)McNeal and Mrs. Katrina (Robert) Wilson; brother-in-law, Mr. Michael (Veronica) Watkins; a host of nieces; nephews; great and great-great-nieces and nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Bishop Kevin L. Adams, Sr. will be the eulogist.
