Geneva Wilson's Obituary
Geneva Crumsey-Baylor Wilson, 102, of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2025, in a local healthcare facility. She was born February 8, 1923, to the union of her parents, Emanuel and Emma Crumsey. Geneva was a longtime resident of the Eastdale Community where she loved working in her yard and garden, also enjoying cooking. She was employed by Parkridge Hospital and Brainerd Baptist School for many years. Geneva was a faithful member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Nurses’ Guild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, William Gene Wilson; brothers, Herschel, William, Tony, Frank, and Robert Crumsey; sisters, Mildred Crumsey, Claudia Mae Crumsey, Mattie Preston, and Emma Crumsey.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Raymond (Joan) Baylor, Jr. of Chattanooga; one daughter, Joyce Marshall of Atlant, GA; goddaughter, Alice Careathers; nieces, Maggie DuBose, Dianne (John) Tibbs, Henrietta McDuffy, and Claudett Carter; sister-in-law, Bernadine Crumsey; a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Geneva will lie-in-state on Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 1-5 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be on Friday, May 9, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Olivet Baptist Church with Bishop Kevin Adams, Sr. as the Eulogist. Burial in Forest Hills Cemetery.
