Geneva Smith's Obituary
Geneva “Sweetheart” Smith, 80, of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2023, in a Life Care Center. She was a 1962 graduate of Sumpter County Training School in Sumpter County, Alabama. She was employed by Chattanooga Schools back in the 60’s. Geneva was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Nellie Brown; brothers, Dennis, Charles, Johnny, and Cleotis Brown; and husband of 48 years, Robert C. Smith. Survivors include her daughter, Robin Smith Griffith of Chattanooga; 2 grandchildren, Geniesce Griffith and Ryan Griffith, both of Chattanooga; brother, Harry T. Brown of Chatsworth, GA; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Geneva will lie-in-state on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 9 a.m. Graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at Lakewood Memory Gardens, East with Pastor Jesse Benn giving words of comfort.
