Geneva Abilez's Obituary
Geneva Ann Abilez, 66, of Chattanooga, passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2021, in a local hospital. She attended Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and was of the Baptist faith. Geneva was preceded in death by her parents, James Arthur and Covie McCune; siblings, John Arthur McCune, Nellie Ruth Roberts, Charlie Lewis McCune, Ettress McCune, and Willie James McCune; grandson, David Adrian Castro. Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Robert Sylvester Abilez, Jr.; children, Andre (Moniqua) McCune of Chula Vista, CA, caregiver, LaWanda McCune Turner of Chattanooga, David (Monique) Abilez of Chula Vista, and Anthony (Cassandra) Abilez, Sr. of Murrieta, CA; 8 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; brother, Lorenzo (Annie) McCune of Lake City, GA; sisters, Clara Cox McCune (Wendell) Parker of San Diego, CA, Mary Mercer of Atlanta, GA, and Gloria (Kevin James) Harmon of San Diego, CA; great-aunt, Lillie Eldridge of McDonough, GA; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Pastor William Tramble, Jr. will be the eulogist.
