Geneitha Renee Johnson's Obituary
Mrs. Geneitha Renee Johnson, age 63, was born on December 8, 1960, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She departed this life on Friday, May 24, 2024, in a local hospital. Geneitha, or “Renee,” was a 1979 graduate of Brainerd High School. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt to her many nieces and nephews. She was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. Renee was the founder and director of “God’s Little Sunshine” choir, which consisted of her grandchildren, for many years. Due to Renee’s passion and love for music, and her grandkids, “The Sunshines,” excelled as a children’s choir that performed for various churches throughout the city. Along with being a great singer herself, she loved the Lord and working in the church, doing fundraisers, feeding the homeless, and directing the youth choir. She loved swimming, fishing, cooking, sewing, and shopping. Renee’s greatest joy was when she and Verdis would take their kids and grandkids on different adventures in the van. Renee was an entertainer; she would sing and dance, host karaoke night as well as family gatherings. She was definitely the life of the party. Renee wore as many hairstyles as her mom, who was a beautician. She was very stylish and took pride in what she wore. She loved matching with her husband whenever they went out.
