Fredrick C. Smith's Obituary
Fredrick Charles Smith, 72, of Chattanooga, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, June 27, 2020, surrounded by his wife. He was a 1965 graduate of Howard High School. He continued his education at Alabama A&M University and received his Bachelor’s degree. He earned his Master’s degree in Administration from Trevecca Nazarene University. Fred had a passion to educate the youth. He retired after 36 years of working in education. Fred was a longtime member of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church. He later became a member of Saint Stephen Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Gladys Smith; brothers, Anthony Smith and Dewayne Smith. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Carolyn Smith; sons, Roger Smith and Tracy Watkins; five sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; five nieces; three great-nephews; three godchildren; and a host of other loving relatives and friends. Special thanks to the Chattanooga Kidney Center on Stein Drive and Hospice of Chattanooga. Father Bertin Glennon and Father Manuel Perez will be officiating.
