Frederick Lee Alford's Obituary
Frederick Lee Alford “Little Man”, 70, of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at his residence. He was born September 22, 1956 to Issac James Alford, Sr. and Emma Mae Dowdy Alford. He was a graduate of Howard High School and was on the Football and Wrestling Team. Frederick served in the United States Army for 4 years. He loved people and was always telling stories about his life and making people laugh. He had the biggest heart, always trying to help people. He loved being with his grandchildren, family, and friends. Frederick was preceded in death by his father, Issac James Alford, Sr.; mother, Emma Mae Alford; brothers, Gary Dewayne Alford, and Jeffery Lebron Alford, Sr.; father-in-law, Allen McCrary. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Alford; children, Elizabeth Deloach of Seattle, WA and Tianee Alford of New Jersey; stepchildren, Tomeshia (Kemonti) McDowell and Crystal Moore both of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Terrance Lee, Mi’Harmony Garth, Kemonti McDowell, Kermari McDowell; siblings, Danetta King, Virginia Laird, Issac Alford, Jr., and Angela Lewis; aunt, Vernell Dowdy; mother-in-law, Lillie McCrary; brother-in-law, Connell McCrary; sisters-in-law, Molly Chatmon, Andrea Chatmon, and Patricia McCrary, all of Chattanooga; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Frederick will lie-in-state on Saturday, January 13, 2024, from 12:30-5:00 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Inurnment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery at a later date.
