Fred Alfonzo Pitner's Obituary
Fred Alfonzo Pitner, 76, of Chattanooga, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2021 in a local hospital. He graduated from Howard High School. He served in the United States Air Force and was employed by Combustion Engineering. Fred was a member of Second St. James Missionary Baptist Church. He had much love for his grandchildren and a great passion for sports. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Corine Pitner; brothers, Leroy Pitner, Wallace Pitner, and Robert Pitner; a sister, Mary Pitner. Survivors include his devoted wife, Sandra Pitner; daughter, Sherry Pitner; stepson, Marquel Lane; five grandchildren; sisters, Mattie Jennings, Angelette McGraw, both of Chattanooga, and Emma Davis of Oceanside, CA; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; dear and best friend, Percy Jones. Bishop Andrea McGhee will serve as the eulogist. Burial in Chattanooga National Cemetery at a later date.
